Let me tell you something you already know.  The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows.  It's a very mean and nasty place, and I don't care how tough you are.  It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.  You, me or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life.  But it ain't about how hard you hit.  It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward.  That's how winning is done!
讓我跟你說個你已經知道的事。這世界不全是陽光和彩虹。這是個很險惡齷齪的世界，我不管你有多強悍。它會將你打擊到跪倒在地，使你永遠站不起來，如果你放任不管的話。不論你、我、沒人能像生活一樣地重重的打擊你。但這跟你打得多用力沒有關係。這跟你能承受多重的打擊並繼續前進有關；能夠承擔多少並繼續向前邁進。那就是勝利之道啊！

Pain is temporary.  It may last for a minute, or an hour, or a day, or even a year, but eventually it will subside, and something else will take its place.  If I quit, however, it will last forever. 
痛苦是暫時的。它可能持續一分鐘、一小時、一天或甚至一年，但最終它會消退，而某個其他東西會取代它。然而，如果我放棄，它將會永遠持續下去。

The margin for error is so small.  I mean, one half a step too late or too early, you don't quite make it.  One half-second too slow or too fast, you don't quite catch it.  The inches we need are everywhere around us.  They are in every break of the game, every minute, every second.

Don't be afraid to fail.  You can't always win, but don't be afraid of making decisions.

You have to believe that something different can happen.  He who says he can and he who says he can't are both usually right. 
你必須相信某件不一樣的事情會發生。說自己做得到和說自己做不到的人，兩者通常都是對的。

Most of you say you wanna be successful, but you don't want it bad.  You just kinda want it.  You don't want it bad than you want to party.  You don't want it as much as you wanna be cool.  Most of you don't want success as much as you wanna sleep!
你們大部分說想要成功，但你們並不是萬分的想。你們只是有點想要它。你們沒有比想去派對還更殷切的想要成功。你們沒有像想要耍帥一樣地想要成功。你們大多數沒有像想睡覺一般地想要成功！

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.  Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.  It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
我們最深切的恐懼並非我們無法勝任。我們最深切的恐懼是我們強大到深不可測。最讓我們感到害怕的是我們的光明面，而不是我們的黑暗面。

You have to dig deep down, dig deep down and ask yourselves, "who do you want to be?"  Figure out for yourselves what makes you happy, no matter how crazy it may sound to other people. 
你們得深深挖掘、深深挖掘並問問自己：「你們想當誰？」為自己找出是什麼讓你們快樂，不管對別人來說它聽起來多麼地瘋狂。

Make a choice.  Like just decide, what it's gonna be, who you're gonna be, how you're gonna do it.  Just decide.
做個選擇。好比就決定，它會是個什麼東西、你要成為誰、你將如何做到它。就決定吧。 

Why not?  Why can't I be the MVP of the league?  Why can't I be the best player in the league?  I don't see why.  Why?  Why can't I do that?
為何不能？為什麼我不行當聯盟的最有價值球員？為什麼我無法成為聯盟中最棒的球員？我看不出原因。為何？為什麼我不能那樣？ 

What is it you said to the kid?  It ain't about how hard you hit.  It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward.  Get up!  Get up and don't ever give up.
你對那孩子說的是什麼？它跟你打得多用力沒有關係。它跟你能承受多重的打擊並繼續前進有關；能夠承擔多少並繼續向前邁進。起來！起來，永不放棄。

We can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light.  We can climb out of hell, one inch at a time.
我們可以待在這兒，被打得屁滾尿流，或者我們可以一路殺出去、重返光明。我們可以爬出地獄，一吋一吋地爬。

To be able at any moment to sacrifice what you are for what you will become.  Most of you won't be successful because when you're studying, and you get tired, you quit.  I don't do well in math!  You're right!  You've never studied.  I'm not good in writing.  'Cause you've never written before. 
要能夠在任何時候，為了將來你想蛻變成的而犧牲當下的你。你們大多數的人不會成功，因為當你在念書時，你累了，你就停止。我數學不好！對啦！你從來沒念書。我寫作不好。因為你以前從來不寫。

Talent you have naturally.  Skill is only developed by hours and hours and hours of beating on your craft.
才能你天生便擁有。技藝只會從日積月累地敲打你的手工藝品發展而來。

If you're not making someone else's life better, then you're wasting your time. 
如果你不是在改善別人的生活，那麼你是在浪費你的時間。

Don't cry to give up.  Cry to keep going.  Don't cry to quit.  You're already in pain.  You're already hurt.  Get a reward from it.
別哭著放棄。哭著繼續前進。別哭著退出。你已經處在痛苦之中。你已經受了傷。要從中獲得獎勵。 

Now, if you know what you're worth, go out and get what you're worth!  But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him or her or anybody!  Cowards do that, and that ain't you!  You're better than that! 
於是，如果你知道自己的價值，去爭取你所值得的！但你必須願意承受打擊，而不是指指點點說是因為他或是她或任何人讓你無法在你所欲之位！懦夫才那麼做，而那不是你！你比那好得多了！

Every day is a new day.  Every moment is a new moment.  So now, you've gotta go out and show them that you're a different creature now!

In the seventeenth chapter of St. Luke it's written, "The kingdom of God is within man."  Not one man, nor a group of men, but in all men, in you.  You, the people have the power, the power to create machines, the power to create happiness.  You, the people have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure.
